I’m sure you have all heard this saying – – you can’t see the forest for the trees. Well this week has definitely been a week focusing on the trees. I posted recently about my new medicine to try and combat fatigue.
The fatigue seems to be getting worse and worse. I had a busy day on Tuesday, slept well, woke up feeling rested. Then I had a busy day Wednesday. I slept well again, but I woke up tired on Thursday morning and was ready to go back to bed. So I took it easy on Thursday. This morning, after a good nights sleep, I felt pretty good. But I had to go the grocery store, and that did me in. (I’ve also begun drinking iced green tea in the morning. That seems to help some.)
For me it’s all about quality of life. The fatigue seems to affect everything I do. It is all consuming. I really feel like my quality of life has been lessening because of it. It’s so easy to focus on it as it affects everything.
But as I refocus my attention to the forest, my thought process is something like this:
Isaiah 32:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
And the fruitful field is counted as a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
And righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
Ephesians 2:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
2 Corinthians 3:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
So what does that mean in my life? His spirit is poured out upon me and my wilderness becomes a fruitful field. And that fruitful field is counted as a forest! And I am his workmanship/masterpiece walking in his will for my life. And as I am walking in his will, I will be in love letter (epistle) to others. That is my daily prayer!
All of the varied multiple sclerosis symptoms that I experience are the trees within my life. However, the forest is God’s amazing grace, His unending mercy, and God’s goodness for my life! That is where I choose to focus!

Timely message even for those of us without MS, but packs an extra punch because you do.
Hugs, hugs and more hugs.

I am pretty sure the weeks are getting longer. I have been experiencing SO much fatigue lately as well. I am not working full-time hours, yet, but feel horrible today. I have been dealing with so much pain this week so I am sure that is what is causing me to feel this way. I hope you have a restful weekend and beat this fatigue you are feeling!! Take care of yourself!

Your view is powerful! God does give us a great life to live, as long as we see the big picture and not just the trees. I really enjoyed reading this, thank you for sharing!
