Scriptures for Sunday

I was reading Psalm 42 and verse 8 really jumped out at me.

Psalm 42:8 “The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—A prayer to the God of my life.”

Consider the fact that he commands his loving kindness to be about us in the daytime. Think about that for a moment. As soon as your eyes open, he is there with his love. When you are getting ready for the day, he is there with his love. As you get in your car to go to work, he is there with his love. If you don’t go to work, he is there with his love in whatever your day brings. When you eat, when you read, when you communicate with others, as you write a blog or email or text or post to Facebook or Twitter, his love is there with you. Because he has commanded it in the daytime!!

And then as soon as we close our eyes at night, his song shall be with us as a prayer to him. Throughout the night you may dream, get up to go the bathroom, be stressing or worrying about something that might happen, or thinking about work. But I challenge you to listen for his song/prayer that’s around you at night.

This song/prayer doesn’t have to be formal. You don’t need to recall all the words of a song you like. You can be as simple as please help or thank you for your incredible love.

I also challenge you to come in this scripture to memory so you can bring it back up to your remembrance when you need it.  Here is another.  Psalm 121:8  “The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”
