I received an email this week from the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America stating they were going to assist people with multiple sclerosis who were victims of Hurricane Harvey who may not have access to medicine and other supplies. Some of the services MSAA provides to the people in the Texas Gulf Coast region are finding an MS specialist, accessing patient-assistance programs, or locating emergency services for those in the areas affected. They do not provide any type of direct financial assistance.
I am participating in Swim for MS, a fundraiser, to assist the MSAA in their efforts to provide services in this area. If you have any interest in supporting my efforts, you can go to this link to find my page. My fundraising efforts will go from September 1 to September 30.
By participating in Swim for MS, I also will assist MSAA to provide vital programs and services to all members of the MS community, including cooling accessories for heat-sensitive individuals; assistive equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, and grab bars; MRI funding (which I was fortunate to take advantage of); educational videos and publications; a toll-free Helpline; a Lending Library; and much more! Here is a link to their website if you would like to know more about the specific programs that MSAA provides free of charge to the MS community: https://mymsaa.org/
Again, here is my Swim for MS donation page. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
