MS and a Concert Arena

Last night my mother and I went to Greenville, SC and saw Casting Crowns in concert at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.  When my mother bought the tickets about two months ago, I was very hesitant about the process. But I knew she really wanted to go! I was concerned about parking and how much we might have to walk. I was concerned about a large venue and the walking and climbing of stairs.  I was concerned about the placement of bathrooms. As you can see, the trip worried me.  And yet, Jesus tells me that I should not worry about tomorrow. Because today has enough worries by it’s self.

It takes about an hour to get to Greenville. Instead of going on the interstates, which scare my mother, we went on US highway 25 then state roads. And then once we got into Greenville, there were, of course, stoplights. Which are concerning, because it takes a lot of effort to move my leg and foot from the accelerator to the brake and back again. But there weren’t that many and they were far enough apart that I could use the cruise control–my favorite feature.

Google maps and Siri were invaluable. It helped us the whole way. If you’ve never used it, I recommend it!

We had dinner at Red Lobster. It was a wonderful meal. My mother had a lunch size fish platter. And I had the New Orleans Salmon which was amazing!  It was spicy and yet not too hot. If you like spicy food, I would recommend it highly.

The close in handicap parking was full when we got there. Which was 45 minutes before the concert. So we had to park in the parking garage. It worked out very well, as we were able to park very close to the elevator. And when we got out of the elevator, we had a wide and flat courtyard into the arena.  The accessible seating was right by the door. And the bathrooms were very close as well.

The concert was amazing! We saw Unspoken first. Then Dave Gokey, who sang a new song taken from Ephesians 2:10–one of my favorite verses!!  Then Casting Crowns. They were all incredible with wonderful light shows. I have added a couple of pictures, which as you can see were pretty far away.  However, they had a big screen video monitor so we could see up close. The sound was amazing!!

So, again, if I would have relied on God’s word, I would have had no worries! It is amazing how easy it is to forget to take things to God first.  And of course He provided for us. I will now not be so hesitant about large venues.  I think it was the unknown that caused the worry. Even though I went online, to look at seating, entrances, parking, it was still unknown.

When Joshua was about to take the Israelites into the Promised land, God told him to be strong and courageous three times in the first 10 verses of Joshua 1.  My going to the arena was paltry in comparison!!  How long will I be a slow learner?    As in Psalm 121, I cry out,”I will lift my eyes to the hills-from where comes my help?  My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”
